- Walk away. After 24 hours, your post is permanently deleted. No record of it remains.
That is the entire process. There is no signup flow, no verification step, and no "create your profile" screen. Letheca does not know who you are because it does not ask.
What Makes This Actually Anonymous
Many platforms claim to offer anonymous posting but still collect identifying information behind the scenes. Letheca takes a different approach:
- No account system. There are no usernames, no passwords, and no email addresses stored anywhere.
- No IP logging on posts. Your IP address is not stored in association with your content.
- No tracking cookies. Letheca does not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels. The only local storage used is for preventing duplicate echoes and remembering the age gate confirmation.
- No device fingerprinting. There is no device ID, browser fingerprint, or advertising identifier collected.
- Automatic deletion. Posts are permanently deleted after 24 hours. They are not soft-deleted, archived, or moved to cold storage. They are removed from the database.
